How many offshore staff can I start with?

You will be able start off with as few as 2 FTEs (Full Time Equivalents) and grow your offshore team as your business grows.

We do not have experience of outsourcing in our organisation?

You do not need any experience, as long as you are able to appoint a senior person within your organisation to sponsor the initiative. At Magellan, we have unparalleled experience and knowledge that will enable you to not only implement the project successfully, but also to ensure it continues to deliver the benefits as your business evolves.

I do not want to lose valuable staff due to outsourcing?

Outsourcing does not automatically mean that you will lose all the staff you currently have, there will always be a need for onshore staff. What it does mean is that you can move valuable staff away from mundane functions into functions where they are more effective to you and your organisation. Typically secretaries move into a semi fee earning role and managerial role, where their talents are used.

The project is a good idea but seems so big to implement?

For all our clients we usually advise a phased approach to setting up any kind of outsourcing. Day 1 we take over a reduced set of processes and then move to other processes once the processes have bedded in. This has the benefit of managing the risks to your organisations and does not overwhelm your onshore staff. Remember you will also have a dedicated transition manager and account manager working on this with you to support you through the transition.

How will I know if my work is suited to offshoring?

Our experience shows, most non core processes can be offshored. However please contact us and we will be able to provide you with some tailored advice in relation to your organisation's circumstances.

Yes.  You will have a ‘pool’ of staff (usually 2 or more), dedicated to your organisation.  Your offshore team will build rapport with your onshore team and mangers over time.

How can I ensure that I retain control of my processes?

Your company will ultimately be responsible for managing your offshore resources in the same way as you would if you had a remote office in the UK.  Your Magellan Account Manager will help you to implement control & monitoring procedures to help you to do this efficiently over such a long distance.

The working hours for the offshore team can be determined by you when we work on the finer detail of the service you require.  A common approach is for offshore teams to work split shifts so that there is always cover for normal UK hours but you can also take advantage of the time differences to enable you to submit work late in the evening for completion by start of business the following day.
